Go back. When you're ready, head through the Whirlpool and go to the eastern shore. Head up the path and attack. It's a fairly easy fight, just 5 cyclopes and a local guard. After you have taken the fort, head back to the ship and sail it out to sea. The map ends when you head through the Whirlpool out there.
